GatesmanMarmion+Dave Honored at 2012 PRSA Pittsburgh Renaissance Awards



PITTSBURGH, Pa.–January 31, 2012 – GatesmanMarmion+Dave, Inc., one of Pittsburgh’s premier advertising agencies, was honored at the 2012 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Renaissance Awards with a Renaissance Award and three Awards of Merit from the Pittsburgh chapter of the PRSA.

GatesmanMarmion+Dave took home top honors in the category of Capabilities Brochures for its Sunday Night Anxiety (SNA) Mailer, an internal print piece developed by the agency to introduce GatesmanMarmion+Dave to new business prospects.

In addition, the agency received three Awards of Merit. GatesmanMarmion+Dave was honored with an Award of Merit in the Campaigns category of Community Relations/Public Service for its work with Casey’s Clubhouse – Casey at the Bat: A Ballplayer’s Pitch for Kids with Special Needs, an ongoing media relations effort to recruit volunteers and raise funds for the construction of the Casey’s Clubhouse Miracle League Field in Upper St. Clair.

The agency also received an Award of Merit in the Campaigns category of Marketing Communications – Business to Consumer for the Pittsburgh Penguins “Destiny Has a New Home” campaign. GatesmanMarmion+Dave developed the “Destiny Has a New Home” campaign to capitalize on fans’ excitement for the new arena, showcasing the promise of the Penguins’ new building while still maintaining a focus on the team’s young talent.

In the Tactics category for Internal Publications – Three or More Colors, GatesmanMarmion+Dave’s work with ABARTA, Inc. took home the final Award of Merit. The agency writes, designs and produces NEWSLINE, an internal publication that celebrates ABARTA employees, retirees and their families. The 16-page newsletter encompasses the organization’s culture, while sharing news from several subsidiaries across various industries.

The award ceremony took place on January 26 at the Fairmont in downtown Pittsburgh, and all award entries were judged by the Central Pennsylvania chapter of the PRSA.
